New York Navigation Law §§ 88,89-a and 89-b, were recently amended to provide the Board of Commissioners of Pilots of the State of New York discretion when determining when certain recreational vessels as defined in U.S. C. §§ 2101 (34) of the United States Code, are required to take a New York State licensed pilot when transiting in New York State waters.
The Board in consultation with the State Pilots, has established the following pilotage requirements for recreational vessels in New York State waters for each of the following pilotage districts under the New York State Navigation Law.
